February 1, 2025: Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a national competition where teams of students compete in 23 events in all areas of science and technology. Events include Robot Tour, Tower, Helicopter, Chemistry Lab, Optics, Wind Power, Astronomy, Anatomy and Physiology, to name a few. Over 30 teams from 20 area high schools will be competing at the Mid Hudson Regional competition at John Jay High School on Saturday February 1, 2025 from about 7 AM to 3 PM.
The Regional Coordinator, is looking for volunteers to help supervise events. Experienced teacher coaches will be the main event supervisors, and they are looking for assistants. Assistants will help measure, time, check-in students and equipment, grade papers, and supervise students. No worries, as all tests are already written with answer keys and teachers know and will have all the rules for each event. Breakfast and lunch will be provided as well.
The competition is an excellent way to meet and encourage young people interested in STEM.
